Nermal Pictures

1st Logo
(1988-1998)

Logo: On a black background, we see 2 stars zooming in. Nermals outline in blue appears, it zooms off and shows Nermal. After all played, "Nermal Pictures" fades in.

Variants:

  • On the "PLATINUM RED" releases, Nermal's outline is red.
  • On Canadian Releases, some Canada leafs replaces the stars.

FX/SFX:The zooming and the fading.

Cheesy Factor: Low, its cheesy enough and its retro animation looks cheap.

Music/Sounds: None.

Music/Sounds Variants:

  • For the "PLATINUM RED" variation, a 8-note flute note is played, and at the end a choir is heard.
Availability: Extinct. You can see it on Garfield's Pet Force Early Release and on Garftasia.

Scare Factor: Low. Low/Medium for the Platinum Red variant.

2nd Logo
(1998-2002)

Nicknames: "Sprite of Doom", "Sinking Nermal in Sprite"

Logo: On a green background, we see a image of Nermal on a blue bubble filled water, then Nermal starts sinking. Now we see Nermal's Head, then Nermal Pictures writes itself on Times New Roman font and below of the text, "A SPRITE COMPANY"appears with the Sprite logo.

FX/SFX: Everything.

Music/Sounds: A sinking sound, then a choir what plays the sprite music.

Availability: TBA

Scare Factor: Medium, Nermal sinking may surprise you.

3rd Logo:
(2002-)
Nicknames:Sprite Torch Nermals Sprite Columbia

Logo
: This logo has Nermal from 1988-1998 on a pedestal, giving more detail to the drawing. First, we see a bright light, as if in sunburst. The light is coming from a Sprite can, which zooms out to reveal Nermal who's holding it. On the top "NERMAL", seen in a bold, silver chiseled font, fades in afterward as a ring of light shimmers around Nermal.

FX:All this nice animation :)

Byline: Starting in May 2004, "A Sprite Company" appears on the bottom. It is slightly off center.

Closing Variants:
  • The superimposed closing variant features Nermal (and the cloud background) placed inside a rectangular box. The can, and the cloud BG, overlap the top of the box. Next to the logo are the words "NERMAL PICTURES", with "NERMAL" over "PICTURES". The phrase below the logo reads "A NERMAL PICTURES RELEASE" or "RELEASED BY" above the logo with the Sprite byline underneath.
  • One early closing variant of such featured the boxed Sprite Torch logo at center, with "NERMAL PICTURES"and the Sprite byline below one another.

Music: A majestic tune is heard, which ends with a brass sounder. There are three versions of the fanfare: one that sounds orchestrated that's played by a piano with orchestration, one that sounds more synthesized, and the final having both themes mixed in together. All three have the same ending. Sometimes any movie's theme or any music from a soundtrack plays over it. Otherwise, it's silent.

Music/Sounds Variant: On the 2004 movie Finding Jonester, the logo theme was only played by a guitar. The theme wasn't accompanied by any other orchestrations.

Availability: Currently in use, but thankfully, not plastering anything from other eras. The first movie to use this logo was Last Garfield Hero. The variant with the Sprite byline first appeared at the beginning of The Doc Boy. At least for the Wiigii version, this logo is also available at the beginning of Odiebusters: The Video Game. This logo has been placed in front of films for seventeen years.

Scare Factor: None; this logo has a beautiful fanfare and a soothing backdrop.
