Lasso Television

Background: Lasso Television was established in 1959 as a television syndicator and program producer for country and western programs, founded by Wilbert Daws, Sr. The company would later go on in the 60s to produce far more than country/western shows and serials, which had caused them to grow to fame.

1st Logo
(1959-1963)

LASSO TELEVISION
PRESENTATION
COPYRIGHT (YEAR) LASSO TELEVISION, INC.

FX/SFX: Very simple zooming text.

Music/Sounds: The closing theme of a show, accompanied by a cow mooing.

Availability: Rare. Seen on some of their shows from the time.

Scare Factor: Low. The scratchy prints and loud mooing could get to some, but it would get a little higher with the next logo...

2nd Logo
(1963-1970)

Nickname: "The Angry Cow", "The Cow II", "MOOOOOOOOO!"

Logo: An animated rope ties itself into a lariat, forming a circle against a black background. Inside the lariat's hole, a live-action angry-looking cow appears and lets off a loud moo. The text "LASSO TELEVISION" is underneath the whole time.

FX/SFX: The animated lariat, and the cow.

Cheesy Factor: Very cheesy! The animation is awfully choppy and looks rushed, and the cow simply cuts in to the lariat, instead of properly fading in!

Music/Sounds: A very angry call from the moo, reminiscent of a bull. The ending theme from a show will play against it, but sometimes no music plays.

Availability: Uncommon. At this point in time Lasso Television had started producing and distributing shows outside of the country genre, which allowed for more programs to be made.

Scare Factor: Medium to High. The choppy animation and unfriendly-looking cow may get to some, but it is often regarded as a favorite.
