Digital Interactive

Background:Low budget Interactive company designed for PC ports of Video Games. It was founded in 1991. Even though it was briefly defunct in 2009, it made a return in 2012 as "Digit".

1st Logo
(1991-2009)

Nicknames:"D I G I T A L"

Logo:We see a computer. The word "D I G I T A L" pops out of the screen one by one. Once it finishes, the word "Interactive" fades in below.
Variant:In later releases, the logo is shorter. The font is different too.

FX/SFX:3D animation.

Music/Sounds:A short synth ditty.

Availability:Seen a lot on the first PC games of this kind.

2nd Logo
(1993-1999, 2002)

Nicknames:"D I G I T A L II"

Logo:We see a blue sky. Out of one of the clouds, the word "Presenting" zooms in and pans out. As we zoom into the cloud, we find a studio inside the cloud. The lights turn on and the text "D I G I T A L Interactive" appear.

FX/SFX:The 3D animation.

Music/Sounds:A tape reel sound with piano music and some switching on sounds when the lights turn on.

Availability:Scarce. It is seen after the credits on computer programs for Windows 3.1, Windows 95 and Windows 98. First spotted in the 1993 PC print of Myst. Later spotted on PC releases of mid-budget and indie 90's video games/computer programs. Surprisingly, this logo is seen at the beginning of the 2002 PC release of Parrotty.

3rd Logo
(2000)

Nicknames:"Counter-Strike"

Logo:We see clips from the 2000 video game "Counter-Strike". When someone fires a rifle, it shoots out the Digital Interactive logo out of earth. The words "Presented By" above the logo. Copyright information is shown below. The Digital Interactive logo zooms from the earth and finishes zooming at the end.

FX/SFX:The Zooming and shooting.

Music/Sounds:Rifle sounds, a zooming-like sound, and the short synth ditty from the first logo.

Availability:Only seen on the 2000Counter-StrikePC game.

4th Logo
(2001)

Nicknames:"Game Clips"

Logo:On a blue background, we see clips from the previous video games Digital has distributed. They're all seen on a movie reel. The reel pans from each side before the logo forms. Once the Digital logo forms, the reels combine to glow.

FX/SFX:The clips, the Digital logo appearing, the flash. Still good-looking.

Music/Sounds:Same as the 1st logo.

Availability:Only on the 2001 PC copy ofHalo.

5th Logo
(2001-2002)

Nicknames:"Don't Miss It"

Logo:On a sky background, we see the blue text phrases forming in order:

Some of your favorite titles might be on stock
so don't miss it

The text explodes and the Digital Interactive logo zooms in.

FX/SFX:It's just fading.

Music/Sounds:The explosion sound, followed by a "panning" bell tune (similar to Dolby's jingle).


Availability:Common. It appeared on a few PC games of the time, but all of these were of popular video games.Seen games for Windows XP copies and possibly on Windows 98, Windows 2000 and Windows ME.
